I had to put them somewhere!

I honestly think I thought all of these years that "Black Like Me" was a novel (fiction)...

Quite honestly, I guess I just wasn't "inspired" to read it...

It's one of those revelations that "Why not?" just refuses to answer because the obvious is staring you in the eye. "Quite frankly, my dear, you didn't give a sh*t."

Deb, you may want to read my expose "Black Like Me. 1959 Revisited" and tell be if I am overstepping my bounds.

I don't think I'm "projecting" but, the pain revealed in BLM is so damned vivid to me - I maybe can't help it.

Please, please, let me know if that's how it appears and that I am being narcissistic as hell.

Thanks!itsjustmelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03433643876448354504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8178687658619226992.post-33947830492564063102009-10-18T17:33:23.086-05:002009-10-18T17:33:23.086-05:00Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happ...Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Me-e-e-e-e-l-l-l!!!!!! Happy Birthday to you!!! :-)

Sorry the song was belated, but I'm glad the gift was on time, Ma Soeur!!

You know you're welcome to cross-post it, Mel. I'm just glad you "felt" the Bonnie correlation. I so respect your willingness to tell your truth as a means to a much better end than the one we now inhabit. It's a journey to which I can relate quite well. It's often lonely, sometimes exhilarating, but always well worth the trip.

I still sit with my back to the wall, Mel - but with eyes, ears and heart wide open.

Hope you enjoyed your day!DebChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02018798227792356966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8178687658619226992.post-3498478963263032022009-10-17T21:24:40.291-05:002009-10-17T21:24:40.291-05:00Deb,
It's my birthday today...
I was coming ...Deb,

It's my birthday today...

I was coming to visit, reading along and thinking... "What a beautiful story - I wonder if she would let me cross-post it?"

"...Bless her heart, she tried."

::THUD::

This surprise "present" was the best of the day!

The two "stories" left me speechless, reflective and a little too emotional to say much more.

Except, you touched my heart in a very meaningful way, tonight...

Thank you, Deb,

Melitsjustmelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03433643876448354504noreply@blogger.com
