When I read the article below, the image above immediately popped into my head. I don't know, that just seemed the huge unspoken message from the DNC regarding how they see those who oppose this "selection."
In his July 22nd commentary, "A free speech graveyard at the Democratic National Convention," John Whitehead informs us:
"Free speech zones have been employed by both Democrats and Republicans at past political conventions. This year, however, Democrats face the embarrassing possibility that they will be the only party actually caging dissenters. Protesters at the upcoming Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Denver in late August will be corralled into caged "free speech zones" made of chicken wire and chain link fences which are located more than two football fields from the delegates' entrance. Those who attempt to exercise their First Amendment rights outside this makeshift cage, which is partially obscured by trees and sculptures, will be arrested. (Ironically, protesters at this year's Republican National Convention will not face a cage or even policemen in riot gear.)"
"Chicken wire and chain link fences??" "More than two football fields from the delegates' entrance??" If you were thinking the Changeling and his crew would be tolerating any of that First Amendment stuff on his big day - think again! Hat tip to BJ commenting over at No Quarter for this link to the judge's final decision: Judge OKs 'free speech zones' at upcoming Democratic National Convention.

So basically they are protesting to no body. Because who is going to say, "Oh let's go see what the protesters got to say." This is giving the perfect out. It's like saying you can beg for money but way over there where no one ever walks or drives by. You can get medical care but not at a doctor's office or hospital, but over on a deserted mountain top.
God, it is just so UNAMERICAN!
Well, I'm having my say. The Democrats do not offer opposition to tyranny anymore.
Where are the Inquisitors?
We recently passed, on July 25th, the thirty-fourth anniversary of Barbara Jordan's statement at the U.S. House Judiciary Committee Impeachment Hearings in 1974. The question at hand was whether the actions of Richard M. Nixon, while President of the United States of America, were of a nature and severity to merit the standard of high crimes and misdemeanors. Did his actions subvert the Constitution of the United States? Representative Jordan made clear to millions of Americans how important it was to ask the question — and to answer it.
She expressed the solemnity she felt on the occasion of being amongst the inquisitors charged with this duty. For, indeed, she was a representative of the nation and a subject of its jurisdiction. The Constitution was the foundation of the system of laws of this country. Jordan declared that she would not be an idle spectator to its diminution nor its destruction.
Nearly three-and-a-half decades ago, Members of Congress understood that they were granted the tool of impeachment as check on the powers of the Executive. Nearly three-and-a-half decades ago, Members of Congress understood that if a President or his or her surrogates were to subvert the Constitution, all parties were to be held accountable. Nearly three-and-a-half decades ago, Members of Congress understood that if the President presumed to suspend the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus outside the prescribed exceptions, he or she would be challenged by them, the appointed inquisitors.
Well, things have changed in the last three-and-a-half decades. In 1974, Barbara Jordan made clear the tool of impeachment was not intended for things petty, but things big. I think the appointed inquisitors have become confused about this. In 1998, it was the tool of the hypocritically and righteously indignant. In 2005 and 2006, with credible evidence of illegal wire-tapping, intelligence withholding, and expanding presidential powers beyond the scope dictated by the Constitution, the leadership of the House of Representatives considered the tool of impeachment a mere object of decoration and took it off the table. They proceeded to sit down on the job and feast on complicity in duplicity.
There was a voice, however -- a single voice, barely heard. This voice asked if the President abused the power and privilege of his office. It raised the question: Did the President or his surrogates subvert the Constitution? This voice pleaded, “Where are the inquisitors?”
This voice belonged to Cynthia McKinney.
The only way to bring common sense back into this mess is to elect Hillary or McCain, both of whom are down to earth people who don't suffer fools gladly. Words cannot express how disgusted I am with Obama and the DNC.
Love your playlist, girl!

HEY EVERYBODY!!! SORRY FOR THE DELAY IN ANSWERING YOU ALL, BUT I'VE BEEN BUSY LOOKING FOR A TEMPORTARY HOME IN DC FOR SCHOOL! :-)
Kitty...You said, "So basically they are protesting to no body. Because who is going to say, "Oh let's go see what the protesters got to say." This is giving the perfect out.
You're absolutely right and I'm sure that's what they had in mind all along! UNAMERICAN pretty much sums up the reality that is Obama & Co. - if he can't get the majority of votes, then disenfranchise those who don't vote for him; if people tell the truth about him, then throw their asses under the bus; if people want to exercise their 1st Amendment rights, then round 'em up and cage 'em - far, far away from prying eyes.
ea...¡Hola Chica! I'm not ignoring your comment on the other post (I so appreciate your always asking the questions that make me think!), just having a hell of a time trying to make this school thing work! Promise to respond to that one soon (I met a guy up here visiting his wounded son who's an Arapaho Indian from Wyoming, we had an interesting discussion about "reservations" I want to share with you.)
Well you just go on ahead and have your say!!! :-) Ditto to every bit of it! Thanks for that background info! Barbara Jordan and Shirley Chisholm are my ideals when I think of what "politicians" should be - certainly there aren't many like them! And now we've got the worst example of all running for president of the United States! ¡mi dios!
As for the Inquisitors, there seem not to be any - either in the every day running of the government or in the "selection" of a new head of this government. Regarding Cynthia McKinney? I'm seriousy considering voting for the Green Party ticket for president in November. My small way of saying I'm looking for the Inquisitors as well.
Sonya...Hey Girl! Thanx! Music does soothe this savage beast! :-)
Like I told Sugar, I just have this feeling that Obama will win this thing - she hates me even saying it! :-) And sad to say, that will be the death knell for any and all efforts to level the playing field for us, not to mention what will happen with this country both foreign and domestic.
I could use a few other "choice" words, but they wouldn't be pretty - so I'll just stick with you on damn disgusted! The Obamas are in this for their personal aggrandizement as they slickly tell everybody it's about "America." Lawd, Lawd! I can't wait until this shit is over!
Natasha...Welcome! Thanks for that link, even though it turned my stomach to no end! People really need to know what the illustrious Dems have in store for their asses in Denver. I don't know what to expect, but I will surely be watching closely. Drop in any time!
I appreciate the dialogue as well.
No tengo prisa--take your time responding. I know it will be worth the wait.
Chao y good luck with the search for a new nest.
