Another Black tool lies us into war, only this one is a Nobel Peace Prize winning warmonger

Seems the American public hasn't learned a damned thing about being lied into war.  Remember when white supremacy put a Black face on that one too -- props and all?

Margaret Kimberley's Colin Powell Busted post over at Freedom Rider a couple days ago included a photo of a bust of Powell holding up that vial at the U.N. as he lied us into Iraq.  Stunning likeness, no?

(Photo courtesy Merrily Kerr, New York Art Tours)
I swear, tools will do anything to be in the spotlight.  Powell's lies, immortalized in bronze and concrete, will  forever be a reminder  of what falling for anything will do to you.  Not only will the Murder-in-Chief's homage be way grander than a bust once they're finished with him (Impeachment?  International War Crimes Tribunal? -- one can only hope),  it'll be fodder for "stupid Black people in power" jokes -- for years to come.

I've been sitting here shaking my head incredulously as I keep reading the same kind of bullshit the tools in the White House and the mainstream media served up to "we the people" in the run-up to the Iraq war.  This level of hubris is just unconscionable.  Do they think all of us are stupid enough to believe them -- again?  Or do they just not give a damn?  Don't bother answering, both questions were rhetorical.

I didn't believe them from the beginning and I sure don't believe them now.  Given the recently released declassified CIA documents showing how dirty their hands were during their "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" shenanigans during the Iraq/Iran War, coupled with the facts in this unsettling information, there's certainly no reason for anybody else to believe them either.

If there were chemical weapons used (and that's a huge "if"), I believe the West and Israel are involved in providing them to the rebels.  Why?  For one, this is what ole Pinnocchio said today:
“First of all, I didn’t set a red line. The world set a red line,” Obama said, despite his statement a year ago that President Bashar Assad would cross a “red line” with him if chemical weapons were deployed in Syria’s civil war.

“So when I said that my calculus would be altered by chemical weapons, which the overall consensus of humanity says is wrong — that’s not something I just made up. I didn’t pick it out of thin air,” Obama said. “My credibility is not on the line. The international community’s credibility is on the line, and America and Congress’s credibility’s on the line.” (emphasis mine)
If that's not Zionist-speak, harkening back to the days of the Jewish Holocaust when the world, the international community sat back and watched Hitler's massacre in Germany, I don't know what is (like the Zionists care more about the lives of those oft-labeled, "sand niggers" in Syria than they do their capitalist plundering of their land and resources -- What?  You know as well as I do that's what those of a decidedly alabaster hue call them, so quit playing).  I swear, Shirley Chisholm must be rolling over in her grave too as it is so very apparent this man is, unlike her -- definitely both "Bought" and "Bossed."  {smdh}

Anyway, there are a number of answers to that, "Why?" and greater minds than mine do a way better job of articulating the myriad of reasons than I ever possibly could.  So, here's Pepe Escobar, my favorite "roving correspondent" for Asia Times,  laying out some very compelling points on GRTV:

And here, he not only reiterates them, he shares his take on the Changeling's ass-backward foreign policy, with a few observations from Stephen Schlesinger on RT News:

Family, please stop letting the Changeling bamboozle you, sullying Dr. King's memory with the implication that he's some representation of anything for which he stood.  The only thing Dr. King had to say that even remotely describes this White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy's trojan horse is -- that he represents "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world."

Make no mistake people, Obama is no King (though in a weird, either Freudian-slip or just plain ignorant way, he's better described as the white folk's, "Joshua") -- as evidenced by the extremely huge chasm between his words and motivations for a strike on Syria, and these shared by Dr. King in his "Beyond Vietnam:  A Time to Break Silence" speech (posted in the sidebar -- if for nothing else but nostalgia's sake, do take the time to listen to it):
Now, it should be incandescently clear that no one who has any concern for the integrity and life of America today can ignore the present war. If America's soul becomes totally poisoned, part of the autopsy must read Vietnam. It can never be saved so long as it destroys the deepest hopes of men the world over. So it is that those of us who are yet determined that America will be are led down the path of protest and dissent, working for the health of our land.

As if the weight of such a commitment to the life and health of America were not enough, another burden of responsibility was placed upon me in 1964; and I cannot forget that the Nobel Prize for Peace was also a commission -- a commission to work harder than I had ever worked before for "the brotherhood of man." This is a calling that takes me beyond national allegiances, but even if it were not present I would yet have to live with the meaning of my commitment to the ministry of Jesus Christ. To me the relationship of this ministry to the making of peace is so obvious that I sometimes marvel at those who ask me why I am speaking against the war. Could it be that they do not know that the good news was meant for all men -- for Communist and capitalist, for their children and ours, for black and for white, for revolutionary and conservative? Have they forgotten that my ministry is in obedience to the one who loved his enemies so fully that he died for them? What then can I say to the "Vietcong" or to Castro or to Mao as a faithful minister of this one? Can I threaten them with death or must I not share with them my life? (emphasis mine)
Bet the Nobel Peace Prize Committee's feeling pre-t-t-t-y damned foolish right about now.  If they're not, they sure as hell should be!  Seems they not only erroneously thought all Black folks looked alike -- but thought alike as well. {smdh}

"Operation Odyssey Dawn" - a show of imperialism from Hypocritic Oafs

(Yeah, no - "hypocritic" isn't a word - but I know y'all get my meaning!)

Sorry - again - for the interruption of the Africa series (it was life-changing - of course there's more!), but really - if there was ever any doubt about the hypocrisy of the Changeling (Nobel-laureate for peace that he is), Miz SOS and their whole "Change You Can Believe In" administration - they should all be cleared up with the launching of "Operation Odyssey Dawn."  {smdh}

"The Laureate and Libya" - Nate Beeler

The launching brought to mind two observations in a piece I'd read over at Race-Talk regarding another culture and another subject (though still relevant here I think) by contributor, Mikhail Lyubanski:

The assumption is that it is possible to rank-order nations/cultures on some supposedly objective hierarchy of “civilization”...Who gets to decide what is considered “civilized?”
Anyway - a few links from some folks who've been paying attention (because one of MY rants would probably take forever!):

And how appropriate?!  He announces this foolishness IN BRAZIL - one of the five countries sensibly abstaining from this savior-cum-imperialist piece of work.  I looked at this today...

The Changeling and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff

...and I was HOPING she was thinking this!:

P.S.  If you believe the United States is in financial trouble, know that the powers that be (including their figurehead African-American puppet, joining in on an assault on an African country) believe there's nothing better for a recession than a war.

Obama's Nobel Peace Prize: Seems A Bit Premature, No? (from a HuffPo comment)

I got an Earl Ofari Hutchinson post notification and sauntered over to see what he had to say.  It was refreshingly and surprisingly palatable - for Earl.  Since I was there, I read Jason Linkins' post and decided to read the comments.  Shouldn't have.

I came across this one from LALAW and immediately bristled at the blatant attempt to manipulate Dr. King's Nobel acceptance speech, in order to somehow justify Obama's getting the gold:
In 1964, when southern schools were still segregated, Martin Luther King, Jr. won the Nobel Prize. He died in 1968 and schools in the south were still segregated until a year after his death. When he won the award, he said, in part:

"I accept the Nobel Prize for Peace at a moment when twenty-two million Negroes of the United States of America are engaged in a creative battle to end the long night of racial injustice. I accept this award in behalf of a civil rights movement which is moving with determination and a majestic scorn for risk and danger to establish a reign of freedom and a rule of justice.

I am mindful that only yesterday in Birmingham, Alabama, our children, crying out for brotherhood, were answered with fire hoses, snarling dogs and even death. I am mindful that only yesterday in Philadelphia, Mississippi, young people seeing to secure the right to vote were brutalized and murdered. And only yesterday more than 40 houses of worship in the State of Mississippi alone were bombed or burned because they offered a sanctuary to those who would not accept segregation...

Therefore, I must ask why this prize is awarded to a movement which is beleaguered and committed to unrelenting struggle; to a movement which has not won the very peace and brotherhood which is the essence of the Nobel Prize."

Congratulations, Mr. President, on another great accomplishment.
Before I even knew it, my fingers were typing this:

LALAW...You conveniently ended your excerpt to seemingly conflate Dr. King with Obama. The very next sentence of the speech, along with others that follow, describe precisely why Obama can - in no way - be compared to the prescient MLK:

"After contemplation, I conclude that this award which I receive on behalf of that movement is profound recognition that nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral question of our time -- the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to violence and oppression...If this is to be achieved, man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.

...The tortuous road which has led from Montgomery, Alabama, to Oslo bears witness to this truth. This is a road over which millions of Negroes are travelling to find a new sense of dignity."

Since Obama's not familiar with that "tortuous road," I'm not surprised he's twisted that "new sense of dignity" into continuing aggression and "loving" the poor into destitution.

And the beat goes on...
Can't seem to stop letting revisionist get under my skin.  (Decided to see if their "Post to Blogger" thingy worked.  It did, but I had to edit it, adding a few words of explanation as well as a couple links.)

I went over to Cinie's earlier and "You Go Away For One Minute..." was definitely worth it!  We are more often than not on the same wavelength me and Cin (I busted out laughing when I saw the same Urkelbama that she'd let me have gracing her post!).  Succinct and dead-on as ever - she's ba-a-a-ck!!!

I'd dedicated this in my comment to my Sister-Friend over at her place, but I think all of us who truly believe in a better world - in spite of, not because of, the Changeling, could use it:

Okay, now I'm done with this whole Nobel Prize thing - except to say that with all this international, political "capital," - UNIVERSAL health care, a living wage, disparity in sentencing Blacks and Browns, reigning in the "stupidly" acting police, saying no to McChrystal, telling AIPAC and Israel to get their shit together regarding Gaza and the Palestinians, getting out of Gitmo - for real, stopping torture and renditions - for real, brushin' off:  the Federal Reserve, those banks "too big to fail" and insurance companies Jay-Z style, getting AFRICOM to really be 'bout it and for Chrissakes, stopping the state/federal-sanctioned foot-on-neck policies at our borders - all should be a piece of damn cake!

P.S.S.  What about Morgan Tsvangirai of Zimbabwe?  And Dr. Sima Samar of Afghanistan?  Hey, wonder if Ms. Magazine feels stupid as hell - writing about her and then doing THIS craziness!  -------> Obviously they weren't  even listening during the interview they, themselves conducted when the good doctor said:

"We need solidarity to free women—solidarity with women everywhere.  Women must support each other; we are our own class."

Just sayin'

So that's what the "Magical Mystery Tour" was all about!

Man!  Cinie's "Magical Mystery Tour" description of the Changeling's, right-out-of-the-blocks foray overseas just jumped up and slapped me in the head when I got up this moring!  For some reason, the draft about Afghanistan was weighing heavily on my mind and I wanted to work on it, so I decided I'd get the hell up - early - and write a little bit.  Yes, along with others, it has been sitting for some time.

Imagine my horror surprise when my husband came out of the bathroom saying, "Did you see your boy won the Nobel Peace Prize?"

"Who?" I asked, really not having a clue, but just by the way he said "your boy," I knew I wasn't going to like the answer.  "Barack Obama," he said, with a shit-eatin' grin on his face.  I felt my head starting to swell.

"You kiddin' me???  For what????" (seems Joan Walsh over at Salon isn't the only one for whom being a little brown is a major civil rights contribution!)

With thumb and index finger firmly implanted on my shakin' damn head, and as my youngest walked through the kitchen heading out to work as well, I started my diatribe - listing the reasons why the Changeling has not done a damn thing in the interest of - Peace!  (Could that have been why Afghanistan was on my mind??)

As they walked out, he said, "See, that's why none of that shit really matters!"

His words stung.  But I let it go, because I had no wise, motherly come-back that would hold water in the face of yet another,  Bad Guys - 1, Good Guys - 0 scenario.  I thought to myself, "Whatever works.  This, is what having a Barack Obama for president is teaching Black men - kiss ass, lie, be egotistical, sexist, dishonest, megalomaniacal, manipulative, calculating, greedy and posturing - and you too can have it all!"

I decided not to turn on the TV, radio or anything.  Frankly, I couldn't stomach the drivel I knew the mainstream media would be regurgitatng all day long.  Instead, I searched online for something that would at least let me know that the whole world hadn't lost its damn mind.

I found this, "Obama's Nobel Prize Is More of a Burden than an Honor" at Der Spiegel.  And this Reuter's piece, "Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize to mixed reviews," (along with the comment section) was heartening.  And then of course, Glenn Greenwald summed it up nicely with this, IMHO, very honest and sobering, "Obama's Nobel Peace Prize."  I felt better, but only a little (I swear!  It just gnaws at me why crooks and liars always prosper!).

Because it seems to matter not, I won't drone on and on about why IN THE HELL the Changeling meets these requirements as laid out in Alfred Nobel's will:

"The whole of my remaining realisable estate shall be disposed of in the following way: the capital, invested in safe securities by my executors, shall constitute a fund, the interest on which shall be annually awarded as prizes to those who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind...and one part to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses."
Suffice it to say that I prefer my Nobel Peace Prize winners this way:

Not this way:

(compliments of sister, Cinie awhile back - let me go see what SHE's got to say about this!  Should be good!)
