And it's official...

I'd switched from CNN, deciding to wait until about 11 p.m. to see where the race stood. Outside my window, I heard fireworks going off so I switched back. With the tallying of the votes on the left coast, it is official - Barack Obama is the 44th president of the United States. Historical? Yes. As the first African-American president, "his story" has won the day. I'm listening to John McCain's concession speech right now. Though I didn't vote for him either, I have to say, what an apparently decent and gracious man he seems to be.

I'm really glad I don't have television. I detected no change in daily life from Tuesday to Wednesday. I guess the change starts next year, but wait--I read a story about Obama's people looking at a possible invasion of Iran. Maybe the uniforms will be different.

One of the positives (there are a few for me) of this outcome is that I don't watch as much TV. I'm so sick of hearing how he's the best thing since sliced bread, I find myself just not switching the damn thing on.

I suspect we will see some "change," just not the kind those who need it most are expecting. You said:

You know you need to stop!!! But while I'm ROFLMA, let's not forget Pakistan! Well, maybe not. Bhutto's husband is probably an Obama supporter.
