If a descendant of people who emigrated to America (becoming immigrants from some other country to native-born Americans) says, "And how many of 'em are you gonna let in?" regarding those of Mexican descent crossing the borders of America - what would you think of that person?

I would call them scared.
BTW, thank you for the nice things you wrote on the last topic post, but I think you overstated my involvement. One of my projects seems to have lost momentum, and I only go to México every couple of months on average.
¡Hola, Mujer! ¿Cómo estás?
I probably should've called them scared, but my knee-jerk response was to call them the equivalent of a "pseudo-privileged minority" - in not nearly as pleasant words because the sentiment just really shocked me. I went way overboard in my vitriol, when "scared" probably would've made my point.
You're welcome and I meant them. You may think I overstated, but even "every couple of months" is more than I can say I do!
I've got a lot of time on my hands and I just can't figure out how to make it useful here (my aversion to the state in general doesn't help much!). I think your - "looking back" - is something we all could, and should be doing a lot more of.
