Britain's first-taken, last-freed West African colony celebrates

Today is the 46th anniversary of Gambian independence from British colonial rule.



Read the stark contrast to Ghana's independence day celebration back in 1957 (as described by Dr. King).  It makes me wonder if there is a correlation between the WAY in which the end is celebrated (if, in fact, it ever ends), and how the nation fares on its own down the road.
