"Citizen Alvin" exposes Bloomberg, Kelly and "New York's FInest" -- doing what white supremacy does...

I pulled the video in The Nation's, Stopped-and-Frisked: 'For Being a F***king Mutt' [VIDEO] piece from YouTube and posted it first -- because there are plenty people who need to have their "certainties disturbed."

And trust me, this isn't only happening on the streets of New York; it's happening in people's homes; it's happening in their cars when they're pulled over with no actual probable cause; it's happening wherever "Others" congregate in a manner different that proscribed by the White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy.

But, it seems to me here are "Others" who feel that, as long as it's not happening to me and/or mine, it's either those knuckleheads' fault for gettin' jacked-up or,  it's not your problem.  But thanks to "Citizen Alvin" here (I hope his Mama's very proud!) and those blurred-out-faced cops, afraid to lose their jobs, telling it like it really is under Bloomberg and Kelly, it's quite clear -- you'd better think again.

UPDATE -- An interesting and related conversation:

Deb, I was thinking about this. Real friend of mine on FB and in real life (thus "real" friend) posted on FB about the police killing a Chicano man, by running him down in the squad car. This led me to the thought that this life, this police life, is a culture. We can vote out the mayor who appoints police chiefs. We can vote out the Sheriff, but how do we dispense with the culture? Once we vote in new mayors, they appoint new police chiefs. We vote new Sheriffs, but the culture of police brutality, the brutal culture remains.
I used to hear the cops say that not all cops are bad. I agreed with this sentiment. But, again I began to think. If not all bad, then why are not the "good" cops protesting against he "bad" cops??? Yet, this culture of brutality exists among themselves. I first learned of this when reading a story about a black female cop that was a whistle blower on Detroit police dept. When she was in a dangerous situation and responded for backup, she received none from her fellow officers. They will turn on those that stand for the right thing. So if the "good" cops protest against the "bad" cops they can be left alone to die without help.
This is a culture of brutality that exists on ALL police depts. How then do we rid ourselves of the brutality culture in police forces?

Amenta..."This led me to the thought that this life, this police life, is a culture."

And I'd agree with you, wholeheartedly.

"I used to hear the cops say that not all cops are bad. I agreed with this sentiment. "

Me too, and I used to agree with the sentiment as well - (until I had my own little "incident" not long ago that made me know that ALL of that was my colonized mind talking (that's a whole 'nother post). And one thing I've learned over time, is that that colonized mind never really had my best interests at heart. It blinds you, which only adds to that whole Post Traumatic Slavery Disorder thing.

"If not all bad, then why are not the "good" cops protesting against he "bad" cops???"

You answered your own question with the next sentence, Man. It does exist AMONG ALL police depts. It seems being complicit in the "wrong thing" is, as Baldwin said, "The Price of the Ticket" to be considered in hegemony with the society that, after all, created police depts. (last time I looked, neither WE, nor any of our non-alabaster brethren created any of them).

"So if the "good" cops protest against the "bad" cops they can be left alone to die without help. "

Probably why those blurred-out-faced brothers in the video (and they were brothers) have their faces blurred-out. That, and/or the fear of losing their jobs. Either way, the "good cops" are afraid -- which I get, sort of.

"How then do we rid ourselves of the brutality culture in police forces?"

We don't -- not unless we rid ourselves of ALL their bosses, from the chiefs of police directly above them who condone, and often conspire with them to cover up said culture; to Mayors like Bloomberg, who gladly pocket all of those Byrne/JAG dollars that Congress (all of whom would have to go as well) rains down upon ALL alleged law enforcement agencies (police depts./FBI/DEA/INS etc., etc.) in ALL cities which they use mostly in the 'hood to make white folk feel like they're keeping them "safe" (f*ck us Others by the way); all the way up to POTUS who signs off on ALL of it in order to stay in favor with the "real" powers-that-be who really are the ones who decide whether he gets to stay in office or not.

Hate to be Deb Downer today Amenta, but the system's rigged -- totally and thoroughly, for them and against us, Others. Seems to me, the only way to unrig it, is for us to first, realize that truth and then, like Citizen Alvin, begin to do something about it in whatever way that works for each of us individually, and over all -- collectively.

This country was founded upon that culture of brutality, Brother. And IMHO, it still flows from the top-down, not the bottom-up, no matter what the MSM spews (they're a part of the rigging as well). That's just my 2 cents.

So true what you said. I grew up in Southern Cali and believe me I know this all to well. I remember one night I was going to walk around to a friends house. My mother looked at me and said be careful, the police are out tonight. What a thought. She didn't say look out for the Gamma Boyz, the local Chicano gang, she didn't say be careful of the Pirus, or Brims the local Blood gangs...Nor the Neighborhood or West Coast Crips. She said look out for the police...What a way to live.
Now I have learned never to argue with them like I used to. I have learned to use the VOICE if you ever have seen the movie Dune...LOL. We can handle this in court if need be. Most cops really don't know the law. And like this film, the cops are under corporate scrutiny. In fact most are now private agencies, contracted to the municipal government. See the Alpharetta, GA police dept., and one in North Carolina. They are letting the truth come out.

Peace!

Never saw "Dune," but yep, Mamas do know best -- whether sons believe it or not (and neither of mine do, the effects of the whole interracial marriage thing which I now understand more clearly as a result of my, as Baldwin suggested, "doing my first works over" for the past few weeks (one of the reasons I've not quite finished that post).

"We can handle this in court if need be."
Yeah I thought that too. But trust me, you cannot always. As I said earlier, "that's a whole 'nother post" -- one which I've been sitting on for some time, for no other reason than an uncharacteristic-for-me fear, not for myself, but for those knuckle-headed brown boys I brought into this world. It's a sad, sorry tale, but suffice it to say, here in the "belly of the beast," court plays no part in fixing any of it.

Yes, they are owned, just like POTUS and all the rest of them -- and the currency of that ownership, is our Black lives (again, apologize for being Deb Downer, but it's a heavy time around the old homestead these days. The sooner I can unload some of this shit, the better I'm sure I'll feel).

Peace...
