Family, turn off the MSM and feed your mind with Black Agenda TV!

Every Wednesday morning, I click on Black Agenda Report for my weekly dose of Black sanity in this White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy we call America.  Imagine my surprise to find "Season 1, Episode 2" of Black Agenda TV!

I don't know how I slept Episode 1, but you can bet I went looking for it, and found it.  I'm posting both episodes here because:

  1. I don't want you to have missed any part of this truth-telling and,
  2. Since I'm not on Facebook or any other social media forums (because my old ass ain't trying to:  build a presence, which is why I deleted the "Followers" gadget; nor solicit folk for funds that solely benefit my capitalist interests,  which is why I have no ads; nor look for blog awards as confirmation that what I write, "is important") -- this is my only means of helping, in my own small way, to spread this very important word to those of you who take the time, to drop in and read me -- because this thing they're doing, is so very important for us.

No, this is NOT your Mama's or Daddy's Black TV, Family -- not BET, not News One, not Oprah.  What it IS -- is a group of dedicated Black journalists, who've come together to produce the kind of information about which we all need to critically think if we are to survive as a people. Sit back, relax, take it in, chew on it, dissect it and then, if you can honestly say my observation ain't so -- say so, and back that shit up!:

Black Agenda Report has been my shelter in the unending storms of propaganda levelled at Black folk, particularly since the appearance of the Changeling.  For years I kept wondering if I was the crazy one!  Then I found folk, like -- Bruce Dixon, Glen Ford, Margaret Kimberley, Sese, Marsha Coleman-Adebayo, Jemima Pierrre, Mark P. Fancher, Solomon Commissiong, Jared Ball, et. al who weren't "shining up shit and calling it gold."  They were, in the purest sense, "speaking truth to power" and never backing down.  I knew then, that I'd really found a "virtual" home in the Black Diaspora in which I fit -- and which fit me.

I read BAR too & the Black Commentator and love their articles. But I do have to admit that something Mr. Ford said in the run up to the (s)election had me taken aback; basically he said that tho he was against all that Obama stood for, he still intended on supporting him and I'm assuming it meant support as in vote for him. After hearing that, I was sort of miffed with him and tho I still am a regular visitor to the site, I am definitely more wary. To each his/her own but I don't understand the whole 'lesser of 2 evils' mantra. I won't support evil PERIOD if I am aware of it. So I can't understand his stance on that. But besides that, I definitely support the spirit of the site.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Democracy Now debate between Glen, and Baby, Prosperity Preacher Extraordinaire, Michael Eric Dyson (there's apparently good and suspiciously bad about him, IMHO). If you are, I think you may have misheard Glen (see his statement beginning at the 55:07 click in the afore-linked). He never said HE would be voting for the Changeling, but those CLOSE to him probably would.

I don't think you need to be miffed after re-hearing what Glen said, since he called BeelzObama, "the more effective evil," rather than the "lesser of two evils" there. But by all means and for sure, ALWAYS, be wary of anyone or anything you perceive to be not quite right! That, IMHO, is the basis of critical thinking. I'm with you, I won't support evil PERIOD and, this is the biggie in your statement -- if I am aware of it. Once I AM aware, of it I sure as HELL, will cut bait!

I will watch it again. If I'm mistaken, I have no problem admitting it. And that was my only issue with BAR. Otherwise, I share your enthusiasm for their reporting and insight.

All I ask!

Mau, I made the same mistake. I was mad at Ford, then I listened again. If I member correctly, I think he said he wasn't going to recommend voting for the more effective evil. Something like that.

Anyway, thanks Deb. I wasn't aware of this new series either. This is great!

nomad...My pleasure, Brother! I hope they keep it coming. If they do, I'll reserve a spot in my sidebar for every episode!

GLEN FORD: Well, we are certainly not encouraging people to vote for the more effective evil. But, however, members of my family and friends and people that we at Black Agenda Report deal with closely, politically, are going to vote for President Obama. All we ask of them is that they not tell any lies about his record in the process, to tell the truth....

So I stand corrected and I mis-heard the brotha. My mistake. You were right and I said I'd come back to admit it. lol..
