A little tact and diplomacy from the President of the United States - please!

...h/t to WMCB over at Sugar-N-Spice for this. And if that's not how he really feels, he shouldn't have said it. Yeah I know - it was just a joke.

Maybe his handlers should take him to the nearest clue sale and load him up with a long-lasting supply. They might have to back-order.

I'm trying to remember that thing my great aunt used to have in her corn field to scare away the crows.

Ah well, I can't remember, but for some reason I always want to think about that word when I happen to come across "issues" like this..

ea...the handlers are just as bad as he is - or worse.

brotherkomrade...You can wave the "Strawman" thing all you like. I suppose your kids are all healthy and whole so this is not an "issue" for you. But everything's not about you or what you think.

He's the damn president of the entire United States which includes many children who are NOT healthy and whole and their voting parents!!!

And not only did he smoothly throw out the Special Olympics insult while he yukked it up with that tool Leno, he felt the need to follow that up with another. When Leno asked if he was getting a "Portuguese Waterhead" instead of a "Portuese Water" dog, the actual name of the breed. The Changeling felt the need to expound on Leno's asinine joke by saying, "That would be a scary dog" as he imitated a dog walking around whose head is too big for its body.

I don't know where you're from, but where I'm from, "Waterhead" is a reference to kids who are hydrocephalic: "A congenital condition in which an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the cerebral ventricles causes enlargement of the skull and compression of the brain, destroying much of the neural tissue." - like my nephew, who is still alive today due to the love, compassion and care of a family who has undergone the teasing, jokes and hurt. So yes, it is an "issue" for me.

He's an insensitive, arrogant, attention-seeking little boy who, it appears, needs to make other people feel bad to make himself feel good.

My uncle was an hydrocephalic and he died before his first birthday. It greatly affected my mother’s life because she was old enough to remember it all. His name was Ashley.

He's an insensitive, arrogant, attention-seeking little boy who, it appears, needs to make other people feel bad to make himself feel good.

The very second I heard about Obama’s “gaffe”, I thought to myself, what a zero-sum arrogant idiot. First, he simply cannot ad-lib. He needs a teleprompter. That alone proves his character. I mean honestly, can he not go 15 minutes without a teleprompter without saying something stupid? Second, I thought about how hierarchal he is (hence, I call him the zero sum man). He always has to compare himself to someone else, and there always has to be a winner and a loser. There must be a ladder, a top and a bottom, a superior and an inferior. The whole of his existence is based on this dichotomy. It is his baseline. Not to mention how his shortcomings are someone else’s fault. For example, the bowling score during the campaign was due to allowing a young boy to bowl one of the frames. One frame! Well my daughter can sacrifice a frame and still end higher than 37 or 39 or whatever it was. Why couldn’t he just laugh the score off and that would have been that. I mean it was just a dumb game of bowling But that is just it. He cannot be found at fault or deficient for anything. This to me clearly marks his insecurity and his immaturity. A mature man would acknowledge his deficiencies. I mean damn, he is human, what is so wrong with acknowledging a few deficiencies, oh, but not The Precious. Oh noes. And it is that, that very arrogance, hubris that will not allow me to warm up to him. He is disgusting.

Hey Kitty! Good to see you. Apologize for the delay in responding (up to my ass in alligators with this school thing!).

I can imagine what your mother must have gone through both before and after Ashley's death. Over the course of their growing up, Anthony's mother and his siblings have recounted some absolutely cruel "man's inhumanity to man" stories involving people making fun of Anthony and them.

They told my sister-in-law at his birth that he wouldn't live past his first birthday as well. They told her it would be best if she just left him at the hospital where they would stop providing sustenance. She refused and took her baby home. He turned 26 last week.

I agree with you that his hubris is merely a cover for some deep-seated insecurity backed by immaturity (I don't care how "articulate" he is in reading TOTUS or how "clean" he appears - per Biden's comments early on - the insecurity is palpable in every move he makes).

And you know, he's neither the first, nor the last man (or person for that matter though I think it's more a "man" thing given the patriarchy in which we live) to take that tack. But, it's been my experience that either they eventually recognize the insecurity themselves and work on it, or somebody who gives two shits about them, calls them on it and they either fish or cut bait - depending on how much they give a shit about those who give a shit about them. All I've seen is the Changeling cutting bait.

Don't get me wrong, we all need "stroking" at one time or another in our lives, but his pandering for attention - by any means necessary - is, as you say - disgusting.
