I was so pissed when I heard the news. Rest In Peace. But it's obvious this is the work of the CIA. The fact that 5 current & former leftist latin american leaders coincidentally contracted cancer says to me that it's not so coincidental. Smacks of Arafat. Anyhoo, I do hope that the Venezuelans hold their new leader feet to the fire and continue to fight imperialism & neo-colonialism as the US govt will use Chavez' death as an opening to cause chaos (as has already apparently happened since it seems that 2 US govt officials have been expelled).
Mr. Chavez was a champion for the downtrodden and marginalized masses.
They loved him and it really doesn't matter how the western capitalists view him or frame his accomplishments. Hopefully, his successor will not be compromised by those who champion imperialism and the exploitation of the masses for profit and gain.
Sis Deb as usually we are on the same page. Peace to you.
My work schedule does not allow me to be as timely with tuning in to the news of the day but I must admit that in passing through on FB and the feed from DN! I was deeply saddened by the stories of Chavez' death. Like Mau I was immediately skeptical about the circumstances surrounding his illness. In a world already short of breath from the asphyxiation of western imperialism, we are in a dangerous and unstable hemisphere. May his successor inherit not only his sense of humanity but strength in face of arrogant opposition.
Mau..."But it's obvious this is the work of the CIA." You must have read this piece over at the Pan-African News Wire! -- http://panafricannews.blogspot.com/2013/03/chavez-another-cia-assassination-victim.html

If Maduro, Chavez's hand-picked successor is elected, then I'd say there's a good chance. But if it's the other guy, Radonski(?) whose backed by the US, things may be a changin' and it won't be "Good Times" (check out the 3rd relate article -- interesting stuff).
Carolyn...Hey Woman, haven't talked to you in awhile! Hope all's well.
"They loved him and it really doesn't matter how the western capitalists view him or frame his accomplishments."
I know that's right! The MSM has been spewing as much vile as they can on the occasion of this man's death! Speaks volumes about the kind of pond-scum they are.
It's always good to know that there are others who "see" some of this madness going on in the world. Take care, Sis...
jblu74...Hey, good to see you again!
"In a world already short of breath from the asphyxiation of western imperialism, we are in a dangerous and unstable hemisphere."
Vey well said and of course very true. I'm hoping the "usual suspects" don't interfere in the election of his successor -- but I doubt that will be the case, as Mau's already noted.
