On your Inauguration Day, Mr. Sell out -- stop misappropriating Dr. King!

As the Murderer-in-Chief in black-face, fakes out the nation with the Lincoln and King bibles (seeing as he and his "homeboy" are two peas in a pod, I've no problem with that particular manipulation) -- I'd like to take this opportunity to let Dr. King speak for his own damned self!:

I'd initially intended to embed a three-part interview of Dr. King, live, on The Mike Douglas Show in 1967 doing just that (most of you younguns don't know anything about that show, but I do -- I was 11 years-old when this one was broadcast on our black & white, living room TV) however, for some strange reason, "embedding has been disabled upon request" now.  But family, it's a definite, must-hear, so here are the links.  Please, DO take a listen so this BeelzObama conflation can end!:

Martin Luther King J. Interview on The Mike Douglas Show Pt. 1
Martin Luther King J. Interview on The Mike Douglas Show Pt. 2
Martin Luther King J. Interview on The Mike Douglas Show Pt. 3

(Check out Singer, TonyMartin's finger-in-the-face!  Shades of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, no?  I tell you, the more things change -- the more they stay the same!

Since I can't show him speaking, I'll just embed his "Beyond Vietnam" speech, because it equally debunks the whole conflation thing.

~#~

"When the things and computers, profit motives and property rights, are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism and militarism, are incapable of being conquered."

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

To all you opportunists out there, trying to conflate the Changeling with Dr. King -- put your big boy/big girl, thinking you're post-racial pants on, own your betrayal of him for "them dollar, dollar bills y'all" (or the ones you're hoping to get as you melt into the pot) and please -- just cut it the hell out because, they're no more alike than fire and water (the Changeling being the obvious latter)!  Thank you.

UPDATE:  Well, well, well! On the day after the inauguration, NOW two of the three links above are now embeddable (Part 2 still is not) -- but Lupe Fiasco's pre-inauguration concert video mysteriously was removed from YouTube! Thankfully Freedom Rider was able to snag a piece of it for posterity and proof of the police state we have certainly become. {smdh}

One of Rev. Dr. Kings most insightful speeches. Seems so ahead of his time with the exposition of such information. Here he seems to announce his pulling back on pushing his non violence stance onto the population at large. And, just think it was given exactly one year to the day of his assasination.

Peace!

Once Dr. King had the epiphany that civil rights was too narrow an arena and that there was a higher calling; he fought for human rights and took it to the global stage; he went the way of many freedom fighters. They tried to silence him.

There was a quote that I took from an imaginary dialogue between King and Gandhi written by a columnist shortly after his assassination in my reposting of King...the Man and the Myth.

It read:"The odd thing about assassins, Dr. King, is that they think they've killed you." - ~Mohandas K Gandhi~

There is also a video of his manhood speech that isn't showcased by mainstream media. This is one of my favorite speeches.

Given his many sayings there is one that truly reflects the true nature of the man. He did not capitulate on his beliefs for anyone.

"A man cannot ride your back unless it is bent."

This is the King that I remember today!

BTW: The quote and burning building imagery are right on point!

Yes, it was! Yeah, and that was certainly no accident!

Hey Sis. Carolyn, good to see you!

"...he went the way of many freedom fighters. They tried to silence him."

Yes he did. There was a definite, dedicated, commonality of real purpose among all of them, no? And yeah, them and plenty of us too!

"There was a quote...It read:"The odd thing about assassins, Dr. King, is that they think they've killed you." - ~Mohandas K Gandhi~"

Priceless! Seems the Changeling thought that too with his antics today. {smdh}

"This is one of my favorite speeches."

Yes Ma'am! Somebody told a lie one day!" I tell you, listening to him just gives me chills! Did you check out the 3 links? It was so surreal for me to watch him, just sitting there, cool, calm and collected (we talked about my lacking in that area before, remember? :-D) -- handlin' both of them!

"He did not capitulate on his beliefs for anyone.

And that's why, a least for me -- they'll never be able to kill him!

"A man cannot ride your back unless it is bent."

Love that quote, Sis! I've got to file that one in my consciousness, so I can lean on it when I need to.

BTW: The quote and burning building imagery are right on point!

Thanks! Shortly after the Changeling got elected the first time, I wrote this: http://lets-be-clear.blogspot.com/2008/04/deferring-dream-burning-house.html and I looked for a picture of the White House on fire during the War of 1812 and found one! I just wrote the quote in Word and superimposed it on top!

Yes, Sis Deb..I did check out the 3 links and I can't help but wonder if Dr. West will ever recover from the beating he's taking because he exposes some real truths about POTUS.I still haven't heard from the President about the poor, newly poor and future poor!!! I think his attachment to and support of wall street maintains his silence, although they don't respect him and didn't support him for re-election. You can't make this stuff up!

Also, King's take on radicalization or extremism makes sense to me for depending on where you are on the human rights continuum; it can silence you or serve as a smokescreen for exploitation. One of King's quotes speaks to this:

"The question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be... The nation and the world are in dire need of creative extremists."

Deb also states:
"I'm so tired of this cliche, but both parts still hold so much truth: Blacks have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go. The games, the political calculations and machinations, the "burning house" strategies - still exist. The only difference is the faces of the gamesmen have morphed into our own. We need only look to this very small, partial list to realize both halves of the truth in the cliche:"

Again your point is well taken and that list gets longer and longer by the minute.They're hiding behind a 'sophisticated' notion gone amok whereas one should have the ability to hear the views of others and continue to work with them although the game plans are totally different. Shame...

Take care......

I know what you mean, but I don't think the brother's too worried about it. I came across this today about the inauguration: http://youtu.be/96d_CzrfxsM

Can't call him a liar, that's for sure!

We'll probably hear from the Changeling on his way out -- after he's sufficiently enriched himself by kow-towing to his corporate masters. Not that he gives two shits about the poor mind you, it'll be an exercise in rehabbing his image for the history books. Folk like him are masters of that kind of manipulation. And true to form, he'll have plenty of us helping him do that.

I remember his whole "I was a community organizer" spiel, and when I dug into it -- it was such greed-infused bullshit! He and Valerie Jarrett made a killing off of poor folk -- Grove Parc immediately comes to mind. A reporter went back there and interviewed folk, filmed their homes -- it was horrendous. {smdh}

""The question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be... The nation and the world are in dire need of creative extremists.""

Nothing but the truth there!

"They're hiding behind a 'sophisticated' notion gone amok..."

A perfect way to put it! And yes, it is a shame.

You take care too, and thanks for the conversation

if there's anything left when he's done. I think he came to give a coup de grace to what's left of democracy.

What the hell is wrong w us and Lupe Fiasco? How come we not buying this bullshit?

Apparently that kool-aid wasn't potent enough for some of us.

nomad...there's not been "democracy" in this country for some time, so you're probably right about the "coup de grace." As for Lupe, I'm so proud of that young brother!

Anon...Not enough of us though!
