"The Façade of the American Dream" (for those who've no idea -- or do, but think they're "special")

H/T to Brother Sukant over at Sons of Malcolm for this...

Thanks for the video. Yeah, black people have been conned into the idea that all we needed to do was 'prove' our worthiness to be considered a member of the 'family'. This country never had any intentions of assimilating negroes into this society. Greed and avarice apparently prevented the original architects of this madness from thinking far enough enough to forsee what would happen if slavery was abolished and we remained. I am of the opinion that I have nothing vested in this society to protect or invest in and am thinking in terms of getting the hell out.

Anon.. You're quite welcome.

"Yeah, black people have been conned into the idea that all we needed to do was 'prove' our worthiness to be considered a member of the 'family'. This country never had any intentions of assimilating negroes into this society."

Yep, literally, the best trick in the WORLD! What I can't get over is, Who died and made them the "Deciders" of worthiness orfamily (and please don't say Jesus! :-D)?? And nope, they didn't -- we were supposed to always be the help because, you know, "savages" can't think or do anything unless they're told. {smdh}

"I am of the opinion that I have nothing vested in this society to protect or invest in and am thinking in terms of getting the hell out."

I've thought about that on several occasions -- still do. Quiet as it's kept though, I'd worry about my family, my Boyz especially, because I don't think I equipped them enough early on, to deal with these folk, because Hell,it wasn't that long ago that, just like Mary Neal said at the 18:23 - 18:55 click in the last video -- "I didn't know it...I believed I was free, I believed I was valued; I believed that I had rights!" And that's what I tried to teach them. But when I started paying a-damned-ttention, I realized I'd taught them a whole lot of lies once I began to see that none of it was really true -- not without a constant, often Herculean battle in some instances, on my part at least. I've won a few, but not as many as I needed to. Sometimes it drains me so much, to the point that, I just wanna fish or cut-bait! And just as an aside, these are battles that most white folk don't even have to concern themselves with if they don't want to!

And once you start seeing shit, you can't stop! That's how much of it surrounds us here, every single day. You start to continually see ALL the shit -- and none of it is pretty. I think the only way to get rid of some of the schizophrenic existence for Black folk here, IS to move, be an expat in an African, or majority African country that is way better grounded in who they are as a people than we are.

And I say, "some," because we have to remember they're a people who've long existed without us, and us without them. Adjustments would have to be made for sure, but I think it's worth a try. Still kicking the can down the road though, hoping to find clarity enough to make a really informed decision!

Peace...

This is so NOT true. They, those that actually run the country, knew exactly what they were doing.
Remember those enslaved were EMANCIPATED not freed. Shortly after the emancipation the government grafted the
14th amendment giving those that were once enslaved FEDERAL citizenship since slaves don't have a legal status anywhere. This gave the formally enslaved citizenship under the "color" of law. Making us "colored people".
The government, knowing where the international bankers wanted to take the country (Lincoln was fighting the international bankers at the same time that he was fighting the confederacy), by making the formally enslaved Federal citizens would eventually give the bankers more revenue to draw on. This was completed by 1933 under Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Thus the appearance of the Federal income tax and so on and here we are.
Bottom line, is they in fact KNEW that they were going to continue to use our labor to pay back the international bankers. They KNEW exactly what they were going to do with those of us that remained.

Peace mi gente!

Bro. Amenta, Hey!...Great points!! When I told Anon, "And nope, they didn't -- we were supposed to always be the help because, you know, "savages" can't think or do anything unless they're told." -- you know I wasn't on to this right?? But somewhere deep inside, I alway felt it. Thanks for conceptualizing that feeling for me! Still have to roll it around in my head a bit, but I get it basically. All the FDR comparisons to the Changeling early on was no compliment at all as it applied to us, but for white folk -- priceless! And continues to be. But they're settin' his ass up, I can see it already. People are just f*ckin' wretched!!!

And yes, all of his machinations are akin to Christianity's Devil -- so BeelzObama he is! :-D

Peace a ti también mi hermano!

Anon...and speaking of Amenta's point that "those that actually run the country, knew exactly what they were doing." -- it continues. Just read this from Big Ben like it was a proclamaion of something new: "http://www.yourblackworld.net/2013/01/black-news/ben-jealous-black-americans-are-doing-far-worse-under-obama-admin/

HE , and the other "usual suspects" mentioned in the piece have been a huge part of the problem for Black folk in this country! Well, them and those of us who just refuse to see what's happening right before their eyes...

@Amenta--I appreciate your clarification and making me look at it from another vantage point. So I guess what I've always seen as the schizophrenic nature of the govt in planning our demise on the one hand, but going after people like Garvey on the other, ties into what you are saying. So I guess it's like an abusive husband--he doesn't really want you but he'll be damned if he'll allow you to be happy without him. Sick, twisted & sociopathic.

'And once you start seeing shit, you can't stop!'

You are so right...a lil bit of knowledge can sooo be dangerous, can't it? lol...and one piece of the puzzle leads you to another & then another...the internet is such a wonderful medium but I can see how dangerous it would be to the system so i expect at some point they are going to reign this puppy in. Not like they aren't watching everything we do online anyway, but I'm one of those types who just doesn't give a damn. They can't restrain, scare, imprison or kill us all. A fundamental change is inevitable and I think looming. I can understand your apprehension about leaving family, I feel that way too but does that mean that your children absolutely wouldn't be willing to emigrate with you?

Can, and should be dangerous, OTOH however, I've a much deeper understanding of "Ignorance is bliss."

"I can understand your apprehension about leaving family, I feel that way too but does that mean that your children absolutely wouldn't be willing to emigrate with you?"

Wait! I said, "I'd WORRY" about them -- doesn't mean they'd necessarily have to come with me!! :-D The worry contributes to my heretofore hesitation to make a move, but once I decide, it won't keep me from doing it. I've just got to trust that somewhere in there, I taught them enough to survive this shit. If not, they'll learn -- one way or the other. That's how my Mama raised me. But to answer your question, one definitely would, the other probably wouldn't.
